Mr. Roscoe Harris
May 21, 1948 – June 1, 2026
It is with profound sadness and hearts full of love that the family of Mr. Roscoe Harris announces his peaceful passing on June 1, 2026. Born on May 21, 1948, Mr. Harris lived a life of dedicated service, deep faith, and quiet strength. He was 78 years old.
Mr. Harris was born to the late Ulysses Harris and Annie Pearl Simmons, who raised him with love and instilled in him the values of hard work and integrity. He received his education at Bibb Graves High School, where he laid the foundation for a life of purpose and perseverance.
Answering the call of duty, Mr. Harris honorably served his country in the United States Army, achieving the rank of E-4 over the course of two years and ten months of active service. His bravery and sacrifice were recognized with the Purple Heart, a testament to his courage and unwavering commitment to his fellow soldiers and to his nation. He carried the title of Honorable Disabled Veteran with dignity and grace for the rest of his life.
A man of deep and abiding faith, Mr. Harris was a devoted member of Mt. Tabor United Methodist Church in Millerville, Alabama, where he found spiritual grounding, fellowship, and community. He was also a proud member of the Long Hair Brothers, a brotherhood he cherished.
In his leisure time, Mr. Harris could often be found enjoying the simple pleasures that brought him joy — hunting in the quiet of the early morning, casting a line on still waters, or riding his bike through the countryside. These pursuits were a reflection of his love for the outdoors, his peaceful spirit, and his appreciation for God’s creation.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 25 years, Fannie Harris.
He leaves to cherish his memories six children, Terrell (Angela) Marbury of Millerville, AL, Angela Harris of Millerville, AL, Lawanda (Shawn) Borden of Georgia, Michelle Harris of Millerville, AL, Danny (Mykita) Harris of Goodwater, AL, and Veronica (LeMichael) Edwards of Goodwater, AL; one brother: J.W. Harris of Millerville, AL, and one sister, Annette Kelley of Georgia; 18 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
“A good soldier. A faithful servant. A beloved father.”
