Robert Lee Graham, the seventh of eight children (seven boys and one girl) was born on February 22, 1952 to the late Deacon Thomas “Shag” Graham and the late Deaconess Lessie Mae Crosier Graham. Robert L. Graham was born in 1952 to the late Thomas “Shag” Graham and Lessie Mae Graham. He confessed Christ at an early age and united with the Marietta Baptist Church. Mr. Graham was raised in Goodwater and attended Hannah J. Mallory Jr. High and J. D. Thompson High School. Mr. Graham is a 1970 graduate of Goodwater High school. After graduation Mr. Graham entered the U.S. Army. He served three years in the Army. During those three years, He served one year of duty in Vietnam. After his military service Mr. Graham came back to Goodwater. He enrolled in Alexander City State Jr. College and received an Associates degree. Mr. Graham then enrolled in Alabama State University and in 1977 received a Bachelor of Science degree. Mr. Graham started his teaching career at Goodwater High School in 1978. Mr. Graham taught at Goodwater High until 1988, and the High school in Coosa County was consolidated. Mr. Graham taught mathematics for 20 years. In 1995 Mr. Graham received a Master Degree in the Administration of Schools. Mr. Graham served as the administration of Coosa County’s Alternative school, Principal of Coosa County’s Consolidated Middle School. Mr. Graham retired in 2005 from the school system. Since retiring Mr. Graham has served as a faithful member and current commander of the Goodwater Disable Veterans Organization. Whose mission is to leave no Veteran behind and Help Veterans receive the services and benefits that are due to them because of their military services. Robert met his soul mate (Mrs. Nina Graham) and united in Holy Matrimony and remained married for 32 years until God sent for his Angel. He was preceded in death by his mother, Sis. Lessie Mae Crosier Graham and his father, Deacon Thomas Graham; sister, Barbara Ann Graham-Kendrick; brother, Joseph “Mickey” Graham; and brother, Raymond Graham. Robert leaves to cherish his memories two children: Christie Turner, Sylacauga, AL; Sharda’ (David) Wiggins, Atlanta, GA. Two grandchildren: Aurielle Turner and Montana Graham. Four brothers: Austin (Mary) Graham, Goodwater, AL; T.J. Graham, Alexander City, AL; Willie Frank (Sharon) Graham; Carl (Bonnie) Graham, Talladega, AL. Six brothers-in-law, four sisters-in-law, a host of special nieces, special nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
