Doris Virginia (Dawson) Taylor was born to Charles and Lucille White Dawson on September 1, 1933, in Coosa County, AL, and passed away on January 9.
She attended Macedonia Baptist Church at a young age, where she met S.J. Taylor. They were married on December 13, 1948, and to this union five children were born.
Doris worked at Russell Mills and as a seamstress and homemaker. She enjoyed baking/cooking, fishing, gardening, and spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband of 67 years.
She is survived by her children: Charles (Dorothy) of Nashville, TN; S.D. (Vickie) of McDonough, GA; Marie of Goodwater, AL; Marvin of Jacksonville, AL; and Celia (Jeffery) of Montgomery, AL; 13 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; stepmother, Lillie; stepbrothers David (Karen) and Eric; and stepsister, Pam, all of Detroit, MI; sister-in-law, Leona, of Sylacauga, AL; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbors, and special friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband of 67 years.
